Demand and supply in perfect balance – it rarely happens. More often than not, the status quo for any organisation is one where new change demand massively exceeds the available delivery supply. 

The pressure to hit growth targets fuels the ideation process to the point where delivery teams often can’t see the wood for the trees, with the result being a change delivery roadmap that is invariably shaped by default, not design.  

It is therefore vital that any new change demand is shaped and assessed in a common way across the enterprise to ensure that the right level of information is available for making the right change investment decisions early in the delivery lifecycle.

Finding the right level of information is a balancing act – too little, and you are making investment decisions partially blind. Too much, and you can waste a lot of time and effort early in the delivery lifecycle, paralysing your ideation process.
